Uganda gets IP

by Sindre Vaernes - March 23, 2011

As one of the first nations in Africa where GENESIS was pioneered using ISDN telephone lines, this nation has a legacy in the story. After the transition to harness emerging internet technology, many solutions have been sought out in collaboration with telecom companies in Uganda. Following the deployment of the SEACOM cable, internet connectivity has slowly penetrated larger areas. Recently, YWAM’s Hopeland ministry, in Jinja, saw the joyful breakthrough of internet connectivity that supports necessary bandwidth for GENESIS. This follows much prayer, research, tests and perseverance, and as the March One Voice event took place, the family in Jinja saw their first few minutes of images and sound from around the world. This is a stick in the ground and gives hope that we will see a wave of new locations connected via GENESIS.
