Continents, Nations, people groups and many tongues joined together in worship, dance and declaration of the Word of God. Prophetic words were released for encouragement and exhortation, inspiring people to draw near to God and His purposes. We thank everyone for their commitment to make this happen. Several locations worshiped through the night in their time zones. It is a good thing to join together and celebrate in unity. The family of YWAM has expressed this through this global worship event. More events will come this year!

For some it will be in the middle of the night, yet they treasure this moment and desire to join together with everyone.

Another significant development this time was the increased number of scriptures, prophecies and words of encouragement that participants spoke out over other bases. In one unprecedented event, a woman pastor from the Amazon’s Jarawa tribe prayed out for the suffering women and children of the world. Other YWAMers prayed out blessing on our leadership or words of encouragement to bases in crisis.

“These events just keep getting better,” said Kona’s Jeff Waddell. “The technology is giving us improved picture and voice quality and people love the way One Voice unites our YWAM family.”

The One Voice events began back in 2003, and once again the event kicked off from the GENESIS Centre in Lausanne, Switzerland. Bases from over 20 nations have participated so far. The purpose of these events is to bring greater unity in the YWAM family, and all have been marked by joyful celebration.

Most of the worship was in English, but the tempo definitely picked up when Latino YWAMers led out in Spanish and Portuguese.

Spanning multiple time zones across the entire globe, One Voice signifies a forerunner to the event described in the book of Revelation. Every tongue, tribe, nation and generation will have an opportunity to bring an expression of their worship before the living God.

YWAM locations participating on Thursday were San Jose, Costa Rica; Ensenada, Mexico; Wiler, Switzerland; Lausanne, Switzerland; Cartagena, Colombia; Kona, Hawaii; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Amsterdam, Netherlands; Jeju, South Korea; Porto Velho, Brazil and Townsville, Australia.

The next One Voice event will take place on May 21, at 6am (UTC/GMT).

At the moment we have around 40 schools running in 19 locations scattered around the globe.

To get all the staff in one location is a tremendous challenge. So we decided to gather online from the 26th to the 28th of August, using GENESIS.

What a blessed time! We had a number of smaller working group meetings between various locations, but undoubtedly the highlight was our “plenary” sessions, where we connected up to 12 locations in 10 nations - USA, Brazil, England, Switzerland, South Africa, India, Thailand, Russia, Nigeria, Australia – representing every continent. Eight of these locations were linked via a very stable GENESIS connection. The other four were patched in via skype, with varying success.

The mission’s leadership were able to communicate fresh vision to us, and it was a very significant time for our college as we responded by making a stand for unity, and committed to supporting one another. Our deepest thanks to all who those who went the extra mile to make this technically possible, especially to  the GENESIS Center, who coordinated the link!
